Venue: Hotel Hans Egede, Nuuk
Date: 28 October 2026
Time: 9:00–11:00 AM (Greenland time)
The Danish authorities have initiated a comprehensive analysis of quantum security and quantum technology. The Danish Defence Intelligence Service (DDIS) is coordinating the project, and the analysis is being carried out by the Alexandra Institute.
The project also covers Greenland and the Faroe Islands, with a particular focus on raising awareness of the implications of quantum-related vulnerabilities and risks, especially in relation to critical infrastructure.
The project has been underway since spring 2026, and a delegation will now be visiting Greenland. The delegation will include Professor Jan Thomsen from the Niels Bohr Institute, Chairman of the Advisory Board, as well as representatives from the Danish Defence Intelligence Service (DDIS), the Alexandra Institute, and SAMSIK.
The delegation would very much like to meet with you and provide further information about quantum security. The presentation will be particularly relevant for management teams and IT departments.
What is quantum security?
Quantum security involves protecting communications against unauthorised access, as future quantum computers are expected to be capable of decrypting communications that are currently considered secure.
For example, communications transmitted today could be intercepted and stored for future decryption once sufficiently powerful quantum computers become available.
Furthermore, future technological developments may make it possible to compromise information transactions or systems, allowing unauthorised parties to access or modify data and system configurations, potentially rendering systems inoperable.
Invitation to Attend
We hope you will have the opportunity to meet with the delegation and attend the presentation, to which other companies have also been invited.
You are welcome to invite other relevant representatives from the business community.
The Alexandra Institute will deliver a presentation on quantum security, followed by an opportunity to ask questions and engage in further discussions.
Refreshments will be provided during the meeting.
