Horizon Europe: Opportunities for Greenland’s Business Community

The application window opens on 22 September 2026.

Horizon Europe is the European Union’s flagship research and innovation programme (2021–2027), with a total budget of approximately €93.5 billion. It funds collaborative projects that strengthen competitiveness, sustainability, and technological leadership across Europe and partner regions.

The 2026–2027 Work Programme offers diverse opportunities across different research and innovation areas, including significant opportunities in raw materials, a strategic priority for the EU’s green and digital transitions.

Funding will target the full value chain, from exploration and extraction to processing, recycling, and circular use, supporting innovation and sustainable supply of critical raw materials.

2027 Raw Materials topics:

Opening: 22 September 2026
Closing: 2 February 2027

Beyond funding, Horizon Europe offers Greenlandic companies and institutions a broader platform for international cooperation.

 Participation in multinational consortia enables:

  • Access to European and global research and innovation networks
  • Development of long-term business partnerships and market opportunities
  • Knowledge exchange, skills development, and technology transfer
  • Positioning Greenland as a key actor in secure and sustainable raw materials supply

Upcoming calls in 2027 specifically address innovative exploration technologies, sustainable extraction, advanced processing, and recycling solutions, as well as the creation of expert networks on critical raw materials.
