The Nordic Council of Ministers has just launched Nordic Currents, a new international cultural initiative. Through this programme, the Nordic countries aim to strengthen their cultural presence in neighbouring European regions, create new international partnerships, and give more people the opportunity to experience Nordic art and culture.
The initiative will run from 2027 to 2028 and includes performing arts, music, film, exhibitions, cultural programmes, and interdisciplinary projects. An important ambition is to ensure representation from the entire Nordic region, including Greenland.Funding is available for projects with a clear Nordic foundation and strong collaborative potential.
The application round opens on 1 October 2026, with a submission deadline of 1 November 2026. 👉 Read more about Nordic Currents here: Nordic Currents to strengthen Nordic cultural presence in Europe
