Behind Relatepeople is Julia Pars, who founded the company in 2021 with the ambition of bringing together more than 25 years of experience in leadership and board work in Greenland into one consultancy and training business. The purpose is clear: to strengthen leadership and collaboration within Greenlandic organizations so they can create genuine and sustainable development.
In its day-to-day work, Relatepeople helps companies and organizations with strategy development, change management, leadership development, team collaboration, sustainability and ESG, analyses, as well as facilitation of meetings, workshops, and conferences. Julia places great emphasis on ensuring that the programs and solutions designed are rooted in the client’s reality — and that they create tangible value in everyday operations, not just impressive plans on paper.
Julia Pars was born in Ilulissat and speaks Greenlandic, Danish, and English. She has an in-depth understanding of the cultures, languages, and conditions that shape Greenlandic workplaces. This is a competence clients highly value, as language, culture, and vast geographical distances play a central role in collaboration across towns and settlements.
Relatepeople is run by Julia herself, but when needed she draws on a network of experienced consultants and specialists, enabling projects requiring additional expertise to be handled through interdisciplinary collaboration and with the appropriate depth.
Companies in Greenland face HR challenges that are more pronounced than in many other places. A limited labor market and shortages of qualified employees across several industries make recruitment, retention, and the development of leaders and employees key strategic disciplines — not merely HR tasks.
At the same time, many organizations are continuously navigating change processes, where leaders must manage transformation, well-being, and relationships while also delivering on direction and operations. This is where Relatepeople steps in with a combination of strategy, process facilitation, training, and close advisory support.
Relatepeople distinguishes itself by combining solid leadership and board experience from Greenland with a strong process-oriented and developmental approach that always takes its starting point in the realities of the specific organization. Julia works closely with clients and emphasizes trust, dialogue, and shared ownership. Development must happen together with the organization and involve all the layers necessary for change to take root.
One example Julia is particularly proud of is a long-term process in which strategy, leadership development, and team collaboration were integrated through analyses, leadership workshops, training, and ongoing advisory support. The result was a stronger shared strategic focus, a more open collaborative culture, and leaders who became clearer in their roles and more capable of creating direction and engagement within their teams.
Julia sees several trends that will shape Greenland’s labor market in the coming years: an increased focus on sustainability and ESG, both as a business strategy and as a growing requirement from the outside world. At the same time, competition for labor and competencies will make leadership, well-being, flexibility, and development opportunities even more important competitive parameters.
Digitalization, hybrid forms of collaboration, and growing expectations for inclusive and relationship-based leadership will also influence developments. The organizations that succeed will be those capable of creating clear strategies, strong relationships, and resilient, learning communities around their work.
In five years, Julia Pars envisions Relatepeople as an even stronger and more established collaborative partner for both public and private organizations throughout Greenland. The ambition is to help set the standard for how leadership, strategy, change processes, and sustainability are approached in Greenlandic organizations.
The goal is not to become the biggest, but to be recognized for quality, integrity, and impact — and for contributing to development across the entire country.
Personally, Julia is driven by the desire to contribute to positive development in Greenland through better leadership, stronger collaboration, and more conscious strategic choices. She is passionate about seeing both people and organizations succeed when the right frameworks, direction, and relationships are put into place.
“For me, consultancy work is about relationships and trust. It is about being a loyally challenging partner who listens, asks questions, and helps turn decisions into practice — and, not least, helps reach the finish line,” says Julia Pars.
Relatepeople is built on a foundation of values where collaboration, responsibility, honesty, and respect are essential guiding principles. Whether the focus is on strategy development, change processes, leadership, sustainability, or facilitation of larger events, the ambition remains the same: to help Greenlandic businesses and organizations achieve their goals in a way that creates lasting value for both people and society.
