Future Greenland 2022 was a success!

20. May 2022

For the 7th time, Greenland Business Association held Future Greenland – Greenlands largest business conference.

The 2022 conference drew a full house with over 420 attendants from from 11 different countries in Katuaq in Nuuk and was streamed on KNR in order for the entire population to be able to follow the presentations and discussions.

”I am very pleased, both with the conference itself and its output. We brought many different people together and was able to have a very good dialogue, both on the main stage and during the side-events. We broke the record in terms of number of different nationalities and I think we managed to put together a programme that consisted of local speakers as well as international input,” Christian Keldsen, Director of Greenland Business Association says.

”We have received much praise for the diversity of both speakers and subjects, covering both education, diversity in management, mineral resources, international alliances, tourism and much more. I think it has been a great success and the preparations for 2024 have already begun based on the input and inspiration we have been faced with.

Among the main conclusions from the conference were, that when Greenland speaks up and takes responsibility, the world listens to us and we can achieve results. But it also requires strong partnerships within a broad spectrum of areas. So if we are to succeed in creating growth and development, we must focus our efforts on a few selected areas and go all in on, for example, sustainability. Meanwhile, we also need to challenge our own understanding of what attracting international investments entail if we are to maje any real difference for the development within, for example, the mining industy of tourism sector.

”We will now gather the input from the conference and continue to work on many of the ideas and points that were made during the conference. There is a lot to work on, not least within the sustainability arena, which will only become more important in the future and which we should already be putting an effort into contributing to,” Christian Keldsen says.

Greenland Business Association would like to thank all presenters, panellists, sponsors and participants for contributing and we hope for an equally successful conference in 2024.
