In 2019, Nuuk was host to a delegation of representatives from Canadian Inuit Development Corporations. This group, which represented Nunavut, Nunavik, Nunatsiavut and the Inuvialuit Settlement Region met with Greenlandic private- and public-sector parties. The purpose of their trip was to learn more about the Greenlandic way of conducting business and pursuing economic development.
The Canadians also sought to identify specific areas of collaboration in key sectors, including infrastructure, fishing, transportation and mining, as there is generally a large interest amongst Canadian companies to increase cooperation between our two countries. Our relationship is multi-layered and the potential is great.
Representatives from Inuit Development Corporations and from Inuit Land Claims Organizations are planning to visit Nuuk in May 2022 during the Future Greenland Conference. On this trip they hope to rekindle and strengthen some of the existing relationships they have formed with Greenlanders, while also developing new relationships.
The members of the delegation are very excited to be making the trip and Greenland Business Association is very excited to receive them.
