The aim is to strengthen the visibility of Greenlandic professional skills, craftsmanship, and business culture, and to inspire young people to pursue vocational education.<\/p>\n\n<p>DM i Skills is Denmark\u2019s national championship for students in vocational education and training, bringing together around 300 competitors as well as thousands of visitors. For the first time since before COVID-19, KTI Sisimiut will once again officially participate in the Skills framework. KTI is a partner school of the vocational college in Hj\u00f8rring, providing a natural foundation for Greenlandic participation.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Greenlandic workshops rather than competitions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Greenland\u2019s participation in 2026 will focus on knowledge sharing and communication rather than competition. With support from the Department of Education under the Government of Greenland (Naalakkersuisut), which has granted DKK 500,000, a total of 17 participants from Greenland will travel to Hj\u00f8rring. The group includes:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apprentices from KTI Sisimiut <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apprentices from Nuuk and the Service School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A participant from Royal Arctic Line <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The Greenlandic participants will host workshops for Danish young craftsmen, sharing knowledge on topics such as Arctic construction, materials, methods, and practices within carpentry and painting trades.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Entrepreneurship and culture as part of Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>In addition to apprentices and instructors, a young carpenter from Sisimiut who has started his own business will participate. He will share his experiences as a young craftsman and entrepreneur in Greenland.<\/p>\n\n<p>Furthermore, a couple of young hunters will take part and build a traditional Greenlandic kayak on-site during Skills. In this way, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and culture will be brought together in a cohesive narrative about Greenlandic competencies.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Support from Greenland Business Association<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>KTI Sisimiut and Uagut will participate with a joint stand at Skills. Through their engagement, Greenland Business Association and its local branch in Sisimiut aim to support the initiative and help ensure the best possible framework for Greenlandic participation. Chairman of Greenland Business Association\u2019s local branch in Sisimiut, Maannguaq Philip Lauritzen, states:<br\/><em>&#8220;Through Greenland Business Association\u2019s contribution, we want to support new local talents. It is important for us to work towards fostering a talented next generation of craftsmen who will ensure that Greenlandic business continues to develop strongly.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>At the same time, efforts are underway to highlight the initiative Suleqat pisinnaasoq \/ Colleague with determination in connection with Skills, through presence and dialogue with visitors.
